PJ's Coffee Team

The annual PJ’s Coffee Conference is not just another event on the calendar — it’s a pivotal moment for franchisees, corporate leaders and industry partners to come together, share insights and set the stage for future success. Over the years, this event has consistently been a source of invaluable insights and inspiration for attendees.

What Does the Conference Look Like This Year?

“GAME ON!” — this year’s conference theme — brings a fun, engaging approach to tackling the challenges and opportunities in our industry. With a primary focus on growth, we’ll dive into solutions for overcoming the nationwide changes in consumer buying trends. The agenda is structured like game levels, where each session builds on the previous one, guiding you toward the goal of “beating the game” in establishing or re-establishing your business as a profit generator.

Expect dynamic content and training sessions that will equip you with the tools to master each level of the game. From operational strategies to innovative marketing techniques, you’ll learn to overcome obstacles that can hold your business back. And, in a unique twist, you won’t just take these insights back home — you’ll have the opportunity to implement them on the spot, ensuring immediate action and increasing your chances of seeing results.

A significant highlight is the introduction of Paytronix, a leader in digital guest experiences. Attendees will get a first look at PJ’s enhanced mobile app, online ordering platform, gift card program and customer loyalty program, built in partnership with Paytronix. This session will show how these tools will streamline operations and significantly increase guest transactions, putting your store on the fast track to success.

Why Should Franchisees Participate?

The conference agenda comprises sessions designed to provide actionable insights and growth opportunities. From the “PJ’s Quest Map,” where PJ’s Coffee President Peter Boylan and Executive VP & Chief Development Officer David Mesa will outline the strategic direction of the brand, to the “OUR Model + YOUR Management = SHARED SUCCESS” sessions focusing on sharpening business management efforts and enhancing store operations, every moment is crafted to empower you. Whether improving daily routines, optimizing employee engagement or learning new customer experience strategies, you’ll leave with a toolkit packed with ways to elevate your business.

In addition to these sessions, the “Owning Your Market” series will offer valuable tips on mastering local store marketing (LSM) tactics, planning your 12-month marketing calendar and leveraging digital marketing to dominate your market. These insights are crucial for franchisees looking to expand their reach and increase their market share.

One of the most anticipated sessions this year is Coffee Talk with Cafe De Mi Pueblo, led by Chief Roastmaster Felton Jones and Ashlee Voss. This insightful session will dive into the inspiring story of an all-female Honduran co-op operation. Luisa and Nicolle of Cafe De Mi Pueblo will share how women play a vital role in the coffee industry in Honduras, offering a unique perspective on the global coffee supply chain.

A Glimpse of What’s to Come

Attending the annual PJ’s Coffee Conference is more than just a learning opportunity — it’s a chance to connect with fellow franchisees, share experiences and build lasting relationships where ideas are exchanged, challenges are discussed and solutions are found together. The conference fosters a sense of community and collaboration that is essential to the brand’s success.

This year’s conference also promises plenty of fun. The exclusive Bayou Barn Party — set against the scenic backdrop of Bayou des Familles — is a can’t-miss event. It’s a perfect opportunity to unwind, network and enjoy the vibrant Cajun culture that Louisiana is famous for. From delicious local cuisine to lively music and dancing, the Bayou Barn Party is the epitome of Southern hospitality.

Moreover, the conference is a platform for celebrating achievements. The dress-to-impress award ceremony on Tuesday night is an annual highlight, recognizing franchisees’ hard work and dedication.

As you prepare for the conference, remember that this event is an investment in your business. The insights, connections and inspiration you’ll gain are invaluable assets that will help you grow and thrive in the competitive coffee industry.

  • PJs has provided me with the flexibility to prioritize my day-to-day responsibilities. While demanding, the work/life balance I have been able to obtain while owning my locations is invaluable. PJ’s is a family-oriented brand and that is evident every day - we have great working, as well as personal, relationships with many folks at corporate. It truly is a family centered culture that I am excited to grow with! - Andrew Jones
  • We loved the products and the business model, and it all worked out so well. The ability to work with them is what sets them apart. They are very reasonable people and it’s a solid company. When we went to meet the team, everyone was super kind, and it was very apparent that they provide a ton of support to their franchisees. It’s important to feel like you can always reach out to somebody when needed. - Angela Harmon
  • I think if someone is looking for a franchise opportunity they should find something that fits their lifestyle. If you're a morning person, a coffee business might be good for you. I'm a morning person so waking up at 4 A.M. is fine, the whole 'wake up and smell the coffee' thing - that's me. - Anthony Satterlee
  • I decided to look into coffee and probably spent about 3 years doing the investigation. I decided on PJ's because the quality of the product is just head and shoulders above everybody else. - Tom Lewis
  • It's easy to be successful. You can become part of your community in a way you can't otherwise in a lot of other businesses. I would highly recommend it. - Polly Fisher
  • The best part of being a franchisee is the freedom. It gives you the opportunity to provide for your family, but also be a part of your family. It gives you time to play with your children or take a vacation, but still have a fantastic business. - Kelly Songy
  • I decided owning a PJ's Coffee shop was the way to go. From start to finish, corporate was there for me when I selected a location, ordered equipment and furniture. - Mateusz Dabrowski
  • I fell in love with PJs Coffee and the brand, years before I ever owned a location and now I own two! I wanted a business that, with the right staff, would be able to operate successfully without me having to be there all day every day. PJs coffee gives you that flexibility and freedom. I also love the family atmosphere that corporate provides and the camaraderie between franchisees is wonderful! You are in business for yourself, but not by yourself, and that is a great sense of comfort and security. I love this business! - Roxanne DeNicola
  • It's just centered around fun, community, it's coffee, it brings people together in good times and bad times ... It was such a community-oriented love of coffee and we were able to take care of our home city. - Donna Miller
